Dr. Ana Oskoz, (she/her/hers) is Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.  Dr. Ana Oskoz joined the Department of Modern Languages, Linguistics and Intercultural Communication in 2003 and the Provost’s Office in 2023. At UMBC Dr. Oskoz has served as faculty senator, director of the Humanities Scholars Program, associate director of the Dresher Center, chair of the department of Modern Languages, Linguistics and Intercultural Communication, and associate dean in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on the potential of social digital tools to contribute to learners’ second language (L2) writing and on the development of L2 intercultural communicative competence in transatlantic telecollaborative projects. In addition to numerous articles and chapters, she has co-edited two books, Technology across writing contexts and tasks (CALICO) and Understanding Attitude in Intercultural Virtual Communication (Equinox Publishing), and the special issue Twenty-five years of Emerging Technology (Language Learning & Technology). She also co-authored the book, Digital L2 Writing Literacies (Equinox Publishing). Dr. Ana Oskoz is also co-editor of CALICO Journal published by Equinox Publishing. Dr. Oskoz earned her BA in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from the University of Deusto, Basque Country, Spain, and her MA in and PhD in Foreign Language and ESL Education from the University of Iowa.
