The Board of Regents (BOR) Faculty Awards are the highest honor presented by the Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members within the University System of Maryland. These awards publicly recognize distinguished performance by faculty within the past three years (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2022) in the categories of:
- Teaching
- Scholarship, Research or Creative Activity
- Public service
- Mentoring
- Innovation
- Inter-USM campus collaboration
The Honors and Awards Committee of the Faculty Senate will select up to three individuals in each category for nomination to the Board of Regents.

Submit the initial nomination packet via email to the Honors and Awards Committee, c/o Patrice McDermott, Office of the Provost, at mcdermot@umbc.edu, by Thursday, October 6.
