Sarah Wong is an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost who works in partnership with Dr. Autumn Reed on many of UMBC’s faculty diversity initiatives. Her primary responsibilities include:
- Community Based Faculty Groups Provost Office Liaison
- Asian and Asian American Faculty Staff Council
- Black Faculty Council
- Latino and Hispanic Faculty Association
- LGBTQ+ Faculty Staff Association
- Women’s Faculty Network
- Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
- Faculty Diversity and ADVANCE websites
- Providing administrative support for:
- The STRIDE Committee
- The Executive Committee on the Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement of Underrepresented Minority (URM) Faculty
- The ADVANCE Executive Committee
- UMBC’s Postdoctoral Fellowship for Faculty Diversity
Sarah earned an associate’s degree from Howard Community College and a bachelor of science from Union University. She has over 15 years experience in administrative support roles working across cultures here in the US and abroad in Hong Kong.
